Animator Gabi

Gabi has a new found favorite nowadays. After indulging in origami actions, he's now into stick draw animation. It all started after watching the Animator vs Animation in YouTube by accident.

After which, he started drawing stick figures.

The Toddler Travels Book Launch

Airplane fares have become more affordable over the past years due to lowered fuel charges. People who don’t usually travel have started booking flights and those who love to travel are now flying farther.

More families have been taking vacations abroad but still not a lot of them travel with their young children. In reality, most parents fear bringing them along because they think they won’t be able to handle them on the trip.

The Crafters Marketplace: Creative Doodling & Coloring Workshop

Talent is a pursued interest. Anything that you’re willing to practice, you can do.” ~ Bob Ross

I am so privileged to be invited as one of the guests for the Creative Doodling and Coloring Workshop by The Crafters Marketplace. I attended the class last Friday along with fellow mommy bloggers. It was also my first event with Mommy Bloggers PH!

When I arrived at the workshop area, I was greeted by this enchanting huge doodled wall, sarap kulayan ng wall! The room fosters an atmosphere of creativity and a safe feeling to express one’s self. I got excited after seeing it!

The Case for Christ for Kids by Lee Strobel with Rob Suggs

The other day, me and Gabi went to Market-Market. We dropped by the Book Sale to buy Magic Tree House, my son's favorite chapter book.

Unfortunately, the saleslady told us that chapter books were recently pulled-out and they have no stocks at that time. We tried to check for other books so I handed a couple of them to my son and asked him to check if there's anything he wants to buy.

While browsing, I came across this book, "The Case for Christ for Kids" by Lee Strobel with Rob Suggs.

I remember watching "The Case for Christ" some time ago and it was a great documentary! Lee was a former atheist who made an investigation to disprove Christianity. But after examining the historical evidences that he gathered, he later on became a Christian.

It's nice to know that they have a book dedicated for kids, to feed young souls and I'm excited to read this with Gabi.

Here's a brief information of the book:

You meet skeptics every day. They ask questions like:

Was Jesus really born un a stable? Did his friend s tell the truth? Did he really come back from the dead? Here's a book written in kid-friendly language to give you answers.

Lee Strobel, educated at Yale Law School, was the award- winning legal editor of the Chicago Tribune and a spiritual skeptic until 1981. A former teaching pastor at two of America's largest churches, he and his wife live in California.

Rob Suggs has been involved un three successful children's Bibles as writer, illustrator' or both. Hre and his wife, Gayle, have two children and live in Atlanta, Georgia.

I bought this book for 40php only. What a good find! :)

Behind the Glasses

Our second born son was diagnosed with congenital cataract on both eyes (bilateral) when he is about 5 months old. Congenital Cataract means that the eye's natural lens is cloudy instead of clear.

We were advised by our Ophthalmologist that a cataract surgery is needed to be performed as soon as possible to ensure that vision is clear enough to allow normal development of the baby's vision system.

Since we cannot afford the operation cost in Medical City, we opted to have it in PGH. Gael was supposed to have both cataracts removed at the same time but due to unforeseen circumstances, the doctors needed to do the procedure separately.

To make the long story short, he was operated on both eyes when he is on his 6th-month. We were given the prescription for his eyeglasses to correct his vision which he needs to wear until such time that he is ready for intraocular lens implant.

Yesterday, we got his third glasses; this is after 3 weeks without it. This has been his bestfriend and we will continue to enjoy this for now.

Our family has been so grateful to have people whom God is using to bless us. We may not know the reason why God allowed this to happen to our child but we continue to trust Him. Everytime my eldest son would ask why God allowed Gael to have this kind of eye condition, we always tell him, "God allowed it because He has a plan" and because God is good, we can rest that His plans are always the best! We also assure him that in heaven, his brother will have a perfect vision, that in heaven, there's no sickness, no disease. Focusing on the silver lining in this situation makes this bearable to our family rather than dwelling on the negative side of it.

"The Lord said to him, "Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the LORD?" ~ Exodus 4:11 NIV

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." ~ Isaiah 55:8-9 NIV

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." ~ Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
