A Snack Phenomenon in Asia: Honey Butter Potato Chips Craze is now in the Philippines

Looking for something new? Well~ we have some good news for all potato chips lovers out there!

Gold Stack brings you its breakout product~ Honey Butter Potato Chips. This flavor was first introduced in Japan in 2012, but not until August 2014 where it became a big hit in South Korea, and since then, there has been a constant shortage of supply due to the high demand for the unique flavor these potato chips offer. Who could resist crispy potato chips with sweet butter aroma and a touch of honey goodness? We know that most people would feel that the Honey Butter Chips would have a weird taste for the first time. This is indeed true, because we also felt that this chips has an acquired taste, the more you try to eat it, the yummier it tastes. One of the reasons would be that us Filipinos do not expect a sweet kind of potato chips to be considered a snack. We are used to having salty flavors that suit our appetite, and we don’t have substantial exposure to chips that are sweet and salty at the same time. Gold Stack then comes into the picture to try and “change the norm.” To cite some examples, we all have those food or drinks that are of acquired taste, like durian or alcoholic beverages. When we try to eat or drink some more, the more we get accustomed to it; thus, finally loving how it tastes.

Thailand, Vietnam, China and other Asian countries have produced their own version of the popular Korean honey butter chips. Gold Stack is the first to bring and introduce this flavor for potato chips to the Philippine market. Our goal is to provide premium, delicious potato chips that cater to the Filipino taste buds. A new snack craze has finally arrived in Manila!

A fun fact is that the honey butter chips in Korea became viral due to social media. They didn’t go for the traditional television or newspaper ads. With just a quick click on their phones, celebrities and locals in Korea raved about the yummy snack; hence, skyrocketing its popularity in a matter of months. That is our goal too. Knowing that we live in a country with a huge population and a competitive market in the snacks industry, one must stand out and exert more effort. Social media then plays a vital role in having a startup business. Since we still don’t have enough funds, using it as a marketing tool helps a lot informing everyone about our product. The most important thing in this type of marketing is of course~ you guys, the bloggers that gives the product not just its limelight, but also rather an existence that will last for the months and hopefully the years to come.

The chips are packaged in a canister with a net weight of 160g. Healthconscious people need not worry as well, as the chips are proven to contain 0% trans fat and 0% cholesterol. No preservatives are added too. Moreover it is also ISO, HACCP, BRC and HALAL certified. Food bloggers, local celebrities, customers here and there have tried the latest snack craze and posted about it on their social media accounts. These are just perfect for anyone!

As of today, Gold Stack Honey Butter Chips is available at the following 70 stores nationwide and can be found through this link:

For those who prefer shipping, we accept online orders, just viber or text us at 09178660912. Another option is to fill up the online order form:

I am God's Gift to my Husband

I love gifts! Who doesn't? But what if you receive a gift straight from the hand of God?

When God created Adam, he said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” (Gen. 2:18). Everything that God created is "good" except this one. This is the only "not good" that God mentioned during the time of creation, the answer? It was Eve - a suitable helper, God's gift to Adam.

You see, even before God created Eve, He already laid down His will for her and the future wives - that is to be a helper suited to the needs of a man. We are called to be of service to our husbands, making him more productive and efficient. In the book, "Created to be his Help Meet", Debi mentioned, "If you are a wife, you were created to fill a need... This is how God created you and it is your purpose for existing. You are by nature equipped in every way to be your man's helper. You are inferior to none as long as you function within your created nature, for no man can do your job, and no man is complete without his wife".

My husband and I are very much opposite in a lot of ways. I used to see this negatively, i used to asked, "Why can't he be like me?" or "Did I marry the right person?." But you know as we begin to understand our divine calling, we learned to appreciate and celebrate our differences. His weakness is my strength, my strength is his weakness and that makes us suitable to one another. Now we can say, "Kaya nga ikaw ang binigay ni Lord sa akin". God is really amazing for giving us a partner that is just right for us.

To be a help meet requires submission to our husband's headship. I must admit, this is still my struggle up to now, a daily struggle. There are times that i don't want to be inconvenienced especially when I'm engaged into something. But God will immediately convict my grumbling heart and will remind me that I am not doing this for my husband, that by submitting to him, I am submitting to God. My husband is my priority next to God and i need to be reminded of this all the time. When i asked him to rate my submission from 1-10 (10 being the highest) his answer was 7. Wow, praise God! I didn't expect to get a high score. It is only by God's grace that my husband sees improvement in that area.

"When you are a help meet to your husband, you are a helper to Christ, for God commissioned man for a purpose and gave him a woman to assist in fulfilling that divine calling. When you honor husband, you honor God. When you obey your husband, you obey God. The degree to which you reverence your husband is the degree to which you reverence your Creator." ~ Created to be his Help Meet

I love this portion of the song, "When God Made You",

Oh I wonder what God was thinking, when he created you.
I wonder if He knew everything I would need,
Because he made all my dreams come true.

When God made you, He must have been thinking about me...

Today, let us honor God by finding ways on how we can be a help meet to our husbands.

Horrible Histories Obsession

When I introduced Gabi to Horrible Histories this school year, he got so hooked with it. He would watch the video series over and over again. He likes the horrible facts and enjoyed singing songs.

When he asked me to print him some lyrics so he could memorize it, I asked him to find words that he doesn't know the meaning and we looked it up in the dictionary. We made a list of Vocabulary Words with its meaning. We also identified names of people mentioned in the lyrics and googled how they look like.

Vocabulary Words

One of his favorites from the Horrible Histories is the Terrible Tudors. We searched for a good article online and studied about the Tudor Times to satisfy him. We also made a lapbook as our output for this lesson.

What I like about the Horrible Histories is the way it presents history in a very fun way. It is stuffed with true, horrible facts from the past! What a great way to enjoy History without getting bored!

MEGA Sports Camp 2016

What is MEGA Sports Camp?

MEGA Sports Camp is a church-led, volunteer-friendly evangelistic event that engages kids 6 to 13 years old while teaching them biblical principles. It is an interactive and fun summer event where kids don't just sit and listen to someone talk about the Bible. They have a chance to play a fun sport, like basketball, while learning biblical principles. (Visit the Facebook Page here).

MEGA Sports Camp is about sports.

Kids who are involved in sports are healthier physically and emotionally.

Participating in sports builds kids's confidence and teaches them to work with others. MEGA Sports Camp helps kids increase their athletic abilities in a chosen sport through drills and lots of encouragement. MEGA Sports Camp also teaches teamwork and sportsmanship.

You can help encourage your child's progress by asking what he has learned at each camp session.

MEGA Sports Camp is about life.

Talk about the MEGA Points your child is learning.

At MEGA Sports Camp, kids not only learn about sports, kids also learn important skills that will help them in life. Kids are encouraged to make choices in life that will help them grow up to become healthy, happy people. The camp theme, Get Ready, is reinforced with daily MEGA Points that teach kids how they can be winners in the game of life.

Imagine, not only the kids are learning but also the parents! Although I’m not able to complete the entire week of workshops (since hubby needs to takeover), i was able to attend some meaty talks and learned a lot from it.

It was our second year attending this camp where my son is playing street soccer. We attended the Batch 2 which runs from April 25-29, 2016.

Parents were invited to join the kids on their final day at camp where parents can experience the camp themselves and enjoy it in the presence of their kids. There was a meet and greet with the coaches and volunteers at the Rally Stage before the game started. We also met MEGA, the mascot.

During stretching and warm-up
It was a joy watching our son and seeing a lot of improvements in his character. He is more focused now and determined to win. Last year, he's not really serious about winning. In fact, he will only run after the ball when it's near him and he will let his teammates do most of the work. There are also times where he looked a bit lost inside the court. But I praised God for his improvements!

GAME 1: Goal Keeper

GAME 2: Striker

He also developed friendship and camaraderie with his team. He loves them and gets along well with everyone.

For God's Glory!

Sharing his fries with the team while waiting for the next game
Although he felt sad when they lose the championship game, we assured him that it's OK as long as he did his best for God, win or lose. Well, it's not really a lost since their team won the first runner up!

1st Runner Up - Team Euri
with his Coach Euri
While these may be little improvements, we chose to celebrate on the little things. We chose to look at the important lessons the sports has provided on his personal values, how it helped him in dealing with winning and losing, that things are not going to go their way, or the team's way, all the time.

We will definitely be joining again next year. My son said he wants to try handball next year. We'll see..

Proud Daddy

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, ~ 1 Peter 3:15
