Our Goalie

My husband loves basketball, so much so that he wanted to pass on his passion in this sport to our eldest son. I remember from time to time, he will bring Gabi along with him during his games or if not to watch a game in the nearest basketball court.

We discovered though that it is not for our son. Instead of dribbling the ball, he continually kicks it inside the basketball court. This brought us to a realization that he may have an inclination to a different sport, that is soccer.

Our Goalie

We were blessed to be introduced to CCF Mega Sports last 2015 and we were able to join for the first time in the Street Soccer. I shared about our second time joining this camp here. Gabi really loves soccer! But since it was just a summer event, we prayed to God for an affordable soccer class because we want it to become his regular sport. I tried to search online for some classes but they're too pricey. I asked God to provide us a cheaper class that we can afford.

God in His faithfulness, opened another opportunity for us. The CCF Football Club offered a regular Saturday classes for FREE! Yes, it's free, we just pay 50php as payment for the soccer field. So with no hesitation, we grabbed the opportunity and we really commit our Saturday mornings to it.

When we first joined CCF FC. We don't have all the necessary gears. We were using the ball given to my son during his first Mega Sports Camp. He doesn't even have soccer shoes, he is just using a regular one. But Gabi never complained about it. He persevered because this is something he really holds dear.

When the husband got a recognition as an Accolade Awardee in his previous company, it was accompanied by a Sodexo Gift Certificates as part of Sodexo Benefits and Reward Services. Although it was the result of his hardwork, he also wanted to bless our son and extend him the reward he himself received. So he decided to buy our son some gears he needed for his soccer. Amongst the different Sodexo Merchants, we went to Toby's.

One happy kiddo!

Thanks, Sodexo!
We were really astounded how God provided for our son. We didn't spend cash on these, it's really like a gift to him. Sodexo GC’s have always been and forever will be valid. Plus, if you need revalidation and replacement of Sodexo GC’s, it's free of charge once the validity date is reached.

My 2016 Highlights
New gear
Although this is not the only experience we had using Sodexo Gift Certificates, this has been the most rewarding experience thus far! Everytime our son plays, we were reminded of this blessing from God through Sodexo GC.

This October, our son joined CCF FC Futsal and was given Sportsmanship Award and Mythical 5 Award during the Finals. Until now, he is still using the same gears we bought him last 2016 using the Sodexo Gift Certificates.

Every time he played, we always remind him to do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus (Col. 3:17). Just like his Dad, he was recognized for giving his best in every game.

We look forward to more bruise and sweat as our child pursues this passion.

BioCair Disinfectant Pocket Spray Review + Giveaway

BioCair Disinfectant Pocket Spray

I previously posted on my Instagram account about the new product that our friend from Koofty Enterprise sent me. By the way, Koofy is the same carrier of the Euky Bearub.

As I mentioned in my post, it was very timely since my son had a bacterial infection. Although the Derma prescribed some medication and home remedies, it's good to have a disinfectant at the same time. I don't know about you but I tend to become paranoid whenever my kids are sick. So I would do my best to give them the protection that they need.

BioCair Disinfectant Pocket Spray
Biocair Pocket Spray, 50 ml at Php 600
BioCair provides a range of lifestyle products that offer 99.999% protection from harmful germs in the environment and on common surfaces, thus keeping you and your family in the pink of health.

It is a non-alcohol, non-toxic, non-corrosive disinfectant made with only pure water and BC-65. It kills 99.999% bacteria and viruses under 60s including yeast, fungus, bacteria, and viruses. The ingredients include ultrapure water and BC-65. BC-65 is non-alcohol, a non-toxic formulation that works by destroying the cell wall of the pathogen.

This can be sprayed on different items and touch point areas such as toilet seat covers, door knobs, kitchen surfaces and even on electronic devices like phones, keyboards. For testing purposes, I used it on my kids' toys.

BioCair Disinfectant Pocket Spray

To use, you need to hold the bottle 4-6 inches away from the surface and spray. Then wait for 60 seconds, no need to rinse after spray.

VERDICT:

After 60 seconds, I allowed my 3yo to play with his toys while I observe him in case there will be any negative reactions. So far, none, which is good! His bacterial infection also didn't come back. I love that it is alcohol-free and fragrance-free, it's just as gentle as water itself. It is non-irritant and suitable to my kids' sensitive skin. Aside from that, it comes in a pocket-size which allows you to carry it anywhere. So, thumbs up for this child-friendly formula!

You can buy the BioCair Disinfectant Pocket Spray in selected Mothercare branches in Metro Manila, Ogalala in Shangrila Plaza Mall, www.baobaobabies.com, and www.milkandhoney.ph.

4 Years of Homeschooling

4 Years of Homeschooling
Living Books that we are going to read
This is our 4th year as a homeschooling family. I always say that no homeschooling year is the same. Last year, we started our journey to Charlotte Mason Education and we fell in love with it that we want to continue on this method for the years to come.

This year, we will be doing it as an Independent Homeschooler. By Indie means, you are not enrolled in any homeschool provider. This is another new in our journey. We are gearing this route not by choice but because of financial struggle we are facing. We can no longer sustain the tuition fee of the provider we were enrolled previously especially that we are in a single income household. But we are trusting our Lord to direct our steps. We know that our homeschooling should be dependent on Him because He holds the future of our kids. There are worries, but we lift them up to Him. We are tired doing it our way, so we surrendered it to our Sovereign God. I know He is faithful and so we will be faithful in homeschooling our kids whether we are enrolled or not.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." ~ Philippians 4:6‭-‬7 NIV
"And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus."~ Philippians 4:19 NIV

4 Years of Homeschooling

By God's grace, we were able to survive our first week of 2017-2018. Though I got sick during our first week, it pretty much went well.

This school year, we are jumping from Ambleside Online Year 1 to Year 3 for my 9 yo son. This is per recommendation of Gina (the Charlotte Mason guru of the Philippines) when I consulted her during one of her talks. But we will be tackling the Year 2 History, so as not to miss out on the chronological order of the subject. Then, we will just catch up on Y3 History. We will also be reading some Y2 books available during free time.

With AO, it gets easier once you find your stride. We may not be able to do it perfectly but it's fine. In our homeschooling, I learned to look at our successes instead of our shortcomings. It somehow just made our homeschooling easier. I am so thankful how Ambleside Online has richly blessed our family!
